My husband and I moved to the Midwest in the late 1990s with our young family. A friend invited us up to her cabin on Kangaroo Lake. It was there that we fell in love with Door County.
Our children took to it instantly — the freedom, the fresh air, the swimming and fishing, all that Door County had to offer. We knew we had found something special.
We purchased our first home in Baileys Harbor — a beautiful property with a garden that stretches several hundred yards beneath a bluff that is actually part of the Niagara Escarpment. That home was the beginning of creating beautiful new memories.
Since then, we have added four more homes to the collection. Not as an investment strategy, but because we wanted other families to have what we found — a place to slow down, breathe, and make memories that last.
None of it would run without Jerry — my husband, and the quiet force behind everything operational. From the first day we bought our Baileys Harbor home, Jerry has been the one who keeps it all going: the maintenance, the grounds, the thousand small things that make a house feel cared for.
